i posted this on my lj, but i don't think any people that read this have heard. matt had surgery on his right eye, thursday.

he had been having some minor problems with it for almost a month. he had gone to see an eye doctor last friday, in oregon. the doctors told him to just keep a watch on it and see his doctor when he got home. he called me tuesday night, from salt lake city, really upset. it was getting worse and was starting to lose some vision in his eye. he really wanted to come home. they left the tour early and started driving. i found him a plane ticket out of Denver and he got to St. Louis around 1pm wednesday. i took off work early and picked him up. we drove to Evansville, IN and met his parents at a Retina Specialists office. he told him his retina was about 1/3 detached. there were a couple holes in the vitrius (i have no idea how to spell that word). there were also a couple holes in his other eye.. i think it was called lattice (sp?) degenaration. (around 4 years ago, his brother had a retina detach. there's also a family history of issues like this.)

so, that doctor told us to go to a doctor in St. Louis. thursday morning, we left around 5:30am, headed back to STL. he saw the doctor at Barnes Jewish hospital at 9:30am. he scheduled him for surgery at 3pm at St. Luke's. everything went really well. they did the surgery on the main eye -- they did a Buckle and put a gas bubble in there so his retina will re-attach. they also did some laser surgery in the other eye to prevent anything from happening. we left the hospital around 9pm or so. he never got sick or anything and the pain hasn't gotten bad, so that is such a blessing!! he's doing really well. he has to keep his head tilted forward at all times and can only sleep on his left side, for about 3 weeks probably -- or just whenever the gas bubble has fully absorbed.

it was pretty scary stuff. i couldn't get off of work yesterday, because we had this workshop to go to, but i came to KY last night. he can't really do anything, so he's pretty bored. just thought i would let everyone know what was going on, and to keep him your prayers. he goes back to the doctor friday.

it's been a verrrry long time since i've updated this.
i have a new roommate! jesi is going to NYC for a couple months, this summer. she's doing an internship with the photographer, Eva Mueller. so, i needed someone to move in and help with bills. we found a girl, amber, from our hometown and she actually moved in this week. it's cool - another month of split bills! i love to save money! my mom and i are (hopefully) going out there at the beginning of august to help her move back.

baseball season has started! i got to go see the Cardinals kill the Cubs last weekend. the new stadium is lovely, but it'll take some time getting used to.

matt is on tour. they're out with Thousand Foot Krutch, Hawk Nelson and Falling Up. they left last wednesday (matt's birthday). it ends right after their cd comes out - MAY 16TH. they're playing a "local" cd release party, then back out on tour... this time with Spoken. it really stinks - the ONLY show in both tours that is close is this Saturday - agape music festival. i'm excited to see him, but i wish it was spaced out a little better. i'll take what i can get, i suppose.

hmmmm, what else. we went to nashville at the beginning of april. Run Kid Run was "playing" the GMAs, or however you'd say that. we got to hang out and stay with ethan & kalle! i love nashville!

i spent Easter with matt and his family. we dyed eggs! his mom fixed a HUGE meal, it was great. we went back to my parent's house that evening, and my parents cooked out.

this is very spastic, but it would take too long to write much more.
here are some random photos.

we decorated Easter eggs:

hope everyone had a happy halloween. i went bowling with some people from work. eventful, huh?

i had fun in mississippi over the weekend! we got down there really late friday night, went to the showers and then back to st louis, late saturday night. i'm really glad i got to go.

tues night, i met my parents for dinner because... wednesday was my birthday!!! wed. i met my sister and a couple friends, after work, for dinner at the olive garden. it was really good, but we had a horrible waiter. he totally ignored us! but we ended up getting our sodas free, MY MEAL free and free dessert. so it worked out. :o)

matt is coming for the weekend. he couldn't come for both my bday AND the weekend. so, this way i get to see him longer. i'm also having a small bday party saturday night, so i wanted him to be there. my sister, however, will be out of town. she's going with the redemption song to maryland for facedown fest.

better get back to work. just thought i'd let you all know you missed my birthday, so - show me some love. jerks. :o)
